Is MemphisCares.US a charity?

No it is not a charity and we do not accept donations. However, all programs and services are provided free of charge.

When will the program be launched and what can local companies do to help get the program started?

We are currently accepting sponsors or Companies That Care. Companies can participate in the sponsor program by completing the form on the Contact Us page.

What services are provided?

This program draws attention to the needs of military personnel, local teachers and schools, law enforcement and firefighter organizations.

It helps reduce the cost of fundraising and generates funds for these organizations. Our sponsors donate a specific amount or a percent of each purchase direct to these organizations.

It identifies and generates funds to assist the severely injured and families of the fallen.

It provides real role models and an opportunity for citizens and companies to help the entire community.

Do public schools, police, firefighter and military organizations pay any fee to participate?

No, this is a free service and each organization receives 100% of every dollar generated.

Do city sponsors pay any fee to participate in the program?

No it is a free marketing opportunity and they make their donations direct to each organization.

How does AmericansCare.US generate revenue to provide these services?

The Founding Sponsor pays a monthly fee to cover the cost of web site and program management. Their support allows all other sponsors to donate direct.

Courage and Sacrifice

How do individuals receive assistance?

To generate the maximum amount of assistance for the severely injured and families of the fallen, we post their stories and provide information about how local citizens, sponsors and non-profit organizations can help.

Law enforcement and firefighter organizations should complete the form on the Contact Us page and include and include general information about individuals that need assistance.

Military personnel should complete the Operation Homefront grant application. The information will be reviewed and a representative will contact you.

Great Americans

What is a Great American and what is the purpose?

To provide real role models and to inspire future military personnel, teachers, law enforcement officers and firefighters, we post stories about some of the most accomplished, most dedicated and most inspiring.

This is not a contest. It is an effort to help express the community's appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is also an effort to raise funds for the organizations they represent.

How do Great Americans help their employer and their colleagues?

We will also post the donation information for these organizations and encourage citizens and city sponsors to make a donation.

How do I nominate a Great American?

Citizens can nominate a Great American by completing the form on the Contact us page. Please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Statement

When are Great Americans selected?

They are reviewed on a monthly basis and posted throughout the year.

If the person I nominated is not selected the first month, do I need to nominate the person again?

No, the nomination will be reviewed each month.

Schools, Law Enforcement and Firefighter Organizations

Can sponsors donate to any school and how does a school sign up for the program?

Our program is focused on public schools only. Schools do not need to sign up. Sponsors and their customers will select the school district or specific school and donate direct. Public school systems can contact us and we will post their donation information.

How do public schools receive donations?

When local citizens purchase products or services from city sponsors they identify a school system or a specific school to receive the donation. We will provide each sponsor with the necessary contact and donation information.

How can I help local teachers fund a specific school project?

When you make a purchase ask the sponsor to make the donation to DonorsChoose.org. They will select a school and teacher project in your area.

What law enforcement and firefighter organizations qualify and how are donations made?

Any city, county or state funded organization or the IRS recognized 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations they support can receive from funds from our sponsors. Contact local organizations and get their donation information. You can also contact us about organizations in your area.

Citizens make a purchase and identify a profession or a specific organization. Sponsors then donate direct to these organizations.

What information do these organizations need to provide?

Sponsors donate a percent of each purchase or a specific amount per purchase. The amount of the donation can be changed each month.

The sponsor will be listed on the Companies That Care page and the logo placed in the right column. Every sponsor will also be invited to participate in local activities and events.

How is the donation reported?

At the end of the month please email the total amount donated to each organization. We will post this information in the donations section on the Companies That Care page.

How are the donations made and what organizations can a company donate to?

If the organization and donation information is not posted on the related web page just contact us. To help military personnel please make your donation to Operation Homefront.

How does the donation process work?

Sponsors are listed in the right column by the amount donated. Listings in the right column are adjusted monthly.

Please send a request through our contact form and someone will get additional information to you as quickly as possible.
